ABOUT THE CHOIR
The Poway Community Choir is a volunteer group in the Greater San Diego area pursuing choral excellence. Founded in 2016, the choir is a member of the Choral Consortium of San Diego and is administered by the Poway Adult School.
OUR MISSION: A group of people singing together, united by their love of music, will inevitably create a strong sense of community by joining together to more completely understand and perform great choral literature. Our goal is to provide the best possible musical experience for our choir members and to share performances of the highest quality with our audiences.

The Poway Community Choir and the Poway Symphonette were honored to be selected for the International Cantus Music and Cultural Festival in Salzburg, Austria in the summer of 2018. Our performance tour took us to Prague, Vienna, and Salzburg, and we were fortunate to perform in many spectacular venues, including:

Melk Monastery - Melk, Austria
-
Great Hall of the Mozarteum - Salzburg, Austria
-
Ecumenical Celebration at the Salzburg Cathedral - Salzburg, Austria
-

-
Lakeside Promenade Music Pavilion - St. Gilgen, Austria
No whirlwind musical tour is complete without sightseeing! Our choir members had the chance to explore these wonderful cities, and the local guides were lovely. Some of the highlights of these adventures were:
-
Prague Castle, Charles Bridge, and Prague's Old Town - Prague, Czech Republic
-
St. Peter's Church, Hofburg Palace, Innere Stadt ("Inner City"), Schönbrunn Palace, and Gumpoldskirchen (a small wine village) - Vienna, Austria
-
Melk Monastery - Melk, Austria
-
Salzburg city tour, Mozart's Geburtshaus ("Birthplace"), Hohensalzburg Castle, Sound of Music bus tour (of course!), Lake District bus tour, and the village of St. Gilgen - Salzburg, Austria
The Cantus festival itself was a gathering of choirs and musical groups from around the globe, and sharing our music with one another was an amazing experience. We were truly grateful to sing with such great people in these beautiful cities!
